New space for start-ups is being created in Wädenswil

2 minutes

A development and research campus is being constructed near the A3 motorway on the former Frutarom site in Wädenswil. The Zurich property company F. Aeschbach AG is initially planning a building with 3,500 square metres of floor space under the project name “Säntisblick”. In the future, the building will primarily provide space for start-ups and young companies from the start-up organisation grow. The entire site will be developed gradually, creating an incubator for life sciences companies of all sizes and promoting further economic growth in the region.

Grow and F. Aeschbach AG are already collaborating successfully in Horgen. In Tödistrasse, approximately 3,500 square metres are currently being finalised for three new member companies of the founding organisation. The extensions and conversions are nearing completion. “The companies were able to design their space themselves and are therefore receiving customised laboratories and offices,” says Professor Dr Dolf van Loon, Managing Director of grow.

Design the premises yourself

In the “Säntisblick” project in Wädenswil, future tenants will also have the opportunity also design their own premises. “Whether it’s a small start-up or a young company in the growth phase – we offer spaces from 200 to 2,000 square metres,” says van Loon. The division of space into laboratories for research or meeting rooms and offices can be arranged in advance. The owners finance the fit-out, while the start-ups and young companies repay the costs through the rent, without any additional expenses. Another advantage of “Säntisblick” in Wädenswil: “Anyone moving in now can continue to grow on the same site in the future,” says the Managing Director of grow.

grow and F. Aeschbach AG are currently in discussion with potential tenants to enable construction to begin in Wädenswil. Once a first, so-called anchor tenant is secured, work will begin. Depending on the start of construction, the first companies could move in as early as 2024, with tenant-specific interior fittings included.
