Enertopia

The Verein Enertopia was founded in 2011 by employees of the ZHAW Institute of Environment and Natural Resources (IUNR) to cover electricity consumption at the workplace with renewable energy. To this end, two solar systems were installed on the Tuwag site at a cost of around CHF 300,000. After ten years, the loans were repaid from the energy yields. In addition, the association enables students at the IUNR to gain experience in the construction of solar systems and builds two to three larger systems per year for training purposes. Enertopia now supplies a large village with electricity from all its systems.
